Visit to the Derma, Pedia, and Dentist

Last Monday, we went to the Dermatologist to have Griffin's skin checked. He has some red spots on his face, arms and chest. I think his skin got irritated by the Vaseline Anti-Dandruff shampoo. He was given cream to apply on the red spots. Hopefully, the spots would disappear. After the derma, we went to his Pediatrician for his check-up. He weighed 29 pounds and was measured, to my surprise, to be 38 inches tall.

The next day, I brought him to the dentist to have his front tooth fixed again, hopefully the filling doesn't come off anymore. The dentist told me that Griffin might be swallowing toothpaste because he seems to have fluorosis, that's why he has brown stains on some of his teeth. It's so sad that aside from cavities, he even has fluorosis. I didn't think that he'd still be swallowing toothpaste because he knows how to spit. When I asked him the last time he brushed if he swallowed the toothpaste, he said, "Yes". That's why this time, I squeeze very little toothpaste on his toothbrush and remind him not to swallow the toothpaste. We're going back to the dentist tomorrow, to fix another tooth. He still has more cavities and I promised to buy him a Power Ranger when he has ZERO cavities already.

Power Ranger Check list

Griffin took a bath right after swimming. He agreed to come out of the pool, because he wanted to play Easter Egg Hunt again. He hid the eggs first, when I arrived he told me he hid all the eggs under the table. I got the basket and picked up all the eggs under our dining table, then it was my turn to hide the eggs. I hid the eggs by two's or three's. He easily found most of them. After, he told me it's time to eat the egg, even if he doesn't eat egg. He helped me peel off the shells of some of the eggs.

He started playing with his Power Rangers. While looking at the Mystic Force catalogue, I heard him saying, " I have this one, check. I have this one, check." After a while, I heard him say, "I don't have this one, x." I asked him about it, he said he heard it from Dora the Explorer.

Floating in his car.

Playing with Daddy.

He said he was exercising in the pool, doing some push ups.

Griffin had his Easter Egg Hunt after lunch. I hid the eggs while he was still inside the room. The eggs were placed in very obvious places so that he can easily find them. He came out of the room with his basket, and quickly found an egg under the table. Some of the eggs he found by himself, the others we had to give him hints on where to look to find the eggs. When he finally found all the eggs, we asked him to count how many he got, and he counted 20 eggs correctly. Of course, he had prizes for finding all the eggs. He got a bubble gun and another bubble toy from my mom and a yellow Mystic Force Power Ranger from me.

He went downstairs to play with his bubble gun, then I decided that we would set up our pool and swim again today. He wanted to swim in his new pool which Ama bought for him. So we set up both pools because I wanted to take a dip too. Griffin began swimming at around 1:30 pm, while my mom and I followed an hour after. Griffin transferred to the big pool after a while. When he my mom not wearing a swimsuit, he asked, "Why are you wearing that Ama?". My mom said she had no swim suit. She was wearing a sleeveless shirt and shorts. Moments later, Griffin said, "Ama, you're wearing a basketball suit."

I gave him his floating car but since the water was shallow, he could float only when he bends his legs. He still loved floating in the car nevertheless. We swam until 5:30 pm.

Griffin loves chasing these logos being projected on the floor.

We watched the 2:30 pm showing of Horton Hears A Who! yesterday, Holy Saturday. It was good that Glorietta Cinemas had an event called Easter Mega Treats. For every 2 tickets bought, you get coupons for Free Face Painting, Balloon Twisting, Glitter Tattoo and Animal Ride. After the movie, Griffin and I, went the balloon twister where he got a red sword. We lined up next for the face painting, which took quite a while before our turn came. It's a good thing Griffin patiently waited for his turn. When his turn came, he had Spiderman painted on his cheek. Next was the Gliiter Tattoo where he chose a pineapple design then we proceeded to the Animal ride. After these, we went to Timezone as usual.

When we arrived home, my mom asked Griffin ....
Ama: Did you like the movie?
Griffin: Yes, I liked the movie because it was funny.

I love my toys!

A few days ago ....
Iper: Griffin, what is your favorite toy?
Griffin: All my toys!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recently, I've been telling Griffin ....
Me: I'm the saddest mommy in the world because you have rotten teeth.
Griffin: I'm the happiest boy in the world because I love my toys!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last christmas, after opening all his gifts ....

Griffin: I'm so happy I opened all my gifts!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Griffin really loves all his toys, whether it is a cheap one or an expensive one. That's why he can't single out one toy which he could call his favorite. He's very happy when he's playing with his toys.

I missed you!

Griffin and his daddy went to the park yesterday afternoon. I didn't want to go to the park so I told Griffin, he would go with his daddy and I would wait for them to come back. On the way down the stairs, he was saying, "Mommy, I want you to come with us." I told him to go, and I'd wait for him to come back. He did not insist that I come, so off they went. I had my "me time" surfing the internet. They came back after 2.5 hours.

Ama: Griffin, where did you go?
Griffin: I went to the playground.
Ama: Did you enjoy?
Griffin: Yes, I joined.

I think he misheard my mom because he knows the meaning of the word enjoy.

After a while, Griffin and I were in Iper's room ....

Griffin: I missed you.
Me: I missed you too,
Griffin: I wanted you to come with us to the park.
Me: You can go with daddy.
Griffin: But I want you to come with us.
Me: Ok, next I'll come with you.

It sounded like he was pleading me to come to the park with him. I felt sorry that I didn't go with him even if he wanted me to. It melted my heart when he told me that he missed me.

Afterwards, he told me ...
Griffin: There was a boy wearing Spongebob who pushed me. I said, "No pushing."

At least, he knows how to defend himself.

Decorating Easter Eggs

Painting his Easter egg.

Here are all the eggs he decorated.

We had an Easter egg decorating activity a while ago. Griffin enjoyed dropping the eggs in the bowls filled with different colored food coloring. Once the eggs were colored and dried, he painted on some of the eggs and placed some stickers on the others. He also loved sticking masking tape on the white eggs then dipping them in coloring to make different designs. It was a fun activity which we all enjoyed. We'll be using these eggs for our Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday.

Swimming

On the way down to our pool.

Eating corndogs.

Enjoying our swim.

Griffin went swimming with Iper and I, in our little inflatable pool yesterday afternoon. We even had corndogs for merienda. We felt so cool and fresh afterwards as the cold water cooled down our body temperature. Of course, Griffin enjoyed every
minute of it.

Happy birthday Angkong!

It was my dad's 62nd birthday last Monday. Here's a photo of Griffin singing Happy Birthday to his Angkong.

Do you want a Toyota?

While the TV commercial of Toyota Altis was on TV.....

Willie: Griffin, you want us to buy that car?
Griffin: I don't want to ride a Toyota, only our Honda.
Willie: Ok, I'll ride the Toyota, you and mommy will ride the Honda.
Griffin: No, when we sit in the back, no one will drive.

So that's why he doesn't want his Daddy to ride another car, no one will drive for us. Hahaha!

Smile!

Everytime I take Griffin's picture, he always does what I call his ugly smile. That's why I have to tell him to show me his handsome smile when I want to get a good photo of him. The following photos shows his different smiles.

How time flies. My baby is now a big boy. It seems like only yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital. I can forget about all the sleepless nights and tantrums when Griffin's in a good mood. He gives us so much happiness and laughter. I know that he won't be a kid forever. But just as I told him, even if he's grown up already, I'll still call him my BABY.
