Ama's Table Cloth
While I was cooking some pancakes in the kitchen, I left Griffin at the dining table. After a while, my mom went to the dining room and saw a pair of scissors on the chair. She was thinking that Griffin might sit on it, but to her shock, she saw that Griffin had already cut up parts of her new table cloth. He wouldn't answer why he cut the table cloth until finally he said, "because I don't like it." Actually, ever since our table cloth was changed a few days ago, Griffin has been telling us that he doesn't like the new one and wanted the old table cloth back. He finally got his wish. What a naughty boy!

Forgetful Ama
While Griffin was playing on the piano, he was reading some letters aloud.
My mom: "What are those?." (referring to the letters Griffin was reading)
Griffin: "They're letters Ama. You forgot already because you're old."

New People's Party
A few weeks ago my mom and grandma went to a dinner party. When my mom came home, Griffin saw her still dressed in party clothes, and asked where she went. We told him, "Ama and Tai-ma went to the old people's party." After a while, Griffin said, "Ama and Tai-ma go to the old people's party, and I go to the new people's party."

Dancing
Dancing to Sesame Beginnings. Taken at 1 year 9 months.
Dancing at parties. Taken days before his 3rd Birthday.
Griffin also loves dancing. His favorite song at the moment is Ray of Light by Madonna. Whenever he hears the tv commercial of sunsilk, he immediately runs to the tv and waits for Ray of Light to play. Then he dances to the song, using dance steps which he choreographed himself.

Singing
Griffin loves singing and his current favorite song is Crazy Car by the Naked Brothers Band. He has even made up his own songs. There's Wake-ka-o, Fonny fonny fon, and You see my face. The following are audio of Griffin singing Love Come Down and Crazy Car.
Writing the Alphabet
Say it properly
We ate at Jollibee last Friday, after Griffin's class at Little Gym. He was eating his usual meal of chicken and rice with sauce. I was feeding him, when he says he wants to eat skin, referring to the chicken's skin.
Me: Skiiiiiiin?
Griffin: Mommy, say it properly, skin not skiiiiiin.

The Spiderwick Chronicles
We watched the 2:10 pm showing of The Spiderwick Chronicles last Saturday. It seems like Griffin enjoyed this movie more than The Bee Movie. He was already familiar with most of the characters since he's been visiting spiderwickchronicles.com everyday, aside from having the complete set of Spiderwick toys from Mc Donald's. You can see his excitement as he sees the characters on the Big Screen. I thought he would get scared, specially when he saw the ogre, Mulgarath, but he wasn't. He' s looking forward to watching Kung Fu Panda next.

Toilet Trained
Last night while I was on the phone, I heard Griffin go to the toilet. I thought he was just going to pee because sometimes he would go to the toilet by himself to wee wee. Willie was even kidding Griffin that he was going to wee wee first. After a while Griffin came back to the room and said, "Daddy, you can wee wee now. I finish poo poo already." He even flushed the toilet but he forgot to wash his bottom. We asked him if he washed himself, of course he did not, and was about to cry. I told him it's ok, and that sometimes people forget to wash. I had to make him feel better because he was so proud to have gone to the toilet and poo poo by himself.

Soldier Boy
This is the toy soldier he's trying to copy.
Griffin loves pretending to be a character, and being in full costume, be it spiderman, a power ranger, a cowboy, a knight, a ninja or a soldier. His most recent costume is that of a soldier. My mom bought him camouflage pants and a polo shirt. Then we went to United Toys, and got him a big gun, headset, grenade, and walkie talkie just like his toy soldier. He was so excited to be a soldier just like his toy.

Coloring
Griffin colored the green brown and violet parts.

It's a surprise to me that Griffin colored the objects above without leaving any white parts and staying within the black outline. He is not much into coloring. He usually colors only a small portion of the picture because he doesn't like coloring large areas. The photos above, show a big improvement in his coloring skills, at least now, he has the patience to color the whole portion. He did not color the orange part of the pumpkin and the red part of the boat because he said it was to big.

Inseparable
Griffin is so attached to me. We have been together day and night, ever since he was born. Days before he turned 4 months, he started experiencing separation anxiety. He would cry when someone else carries him. I can never leave him because he would look for me when he sees that I'm not around.
Even to this day, when he doesn't see me in the room, he would go out to look for me. Griffin goes, wherever I go, but only if he wants to. I can't go to the supermarket, if he doesn't want to go.
A few days ago, we told him we were going to Puregold but he wanted to stay at home and didn't want me to go either. When my mom and sister left for the supermarket ....
Me: Why don't you want me to go to Puregold with Iper and Ama?
Griffin: Because I might lose you.
Bath Time
One thing Griffin hates during bath time is getting water in his eyes. That's why everytime I give him a bath, I have to make sure that I don't get much water in his eyes, specially when I have to rinse the shampoo off. Just recently, while I was giving him a bath, pouring water on his head .....
Griffin: Mommy, I don't like water in my eyes.
Willie: How can you go to the beach, you don't want to get your eyes wet.
Griffin: I'll wear goggles!
Hahaha! Griffin sure knows how to reason out.

Griffin loves attending parties, particularly children's parties. He's very outgoing and loves joining the games. We went to a party last Saturday and you can see in the photos how happy he was during one of the games where they had to pass the ball around. He also joined another game where they had to dance and when the music stops they had to sit on the floor. Unfortunately, he was the first one out. He still wanted to play the game so I told him he can still dance if he wants.
It was a good thing too that there were corn dogs and nuggets, as Griffin is a very picky eater and he doesn't eat spaghetti with red sauce. At least he had a full stomach after the party.
The party we went to had a kiddie salon. He didn't want his hair colored initially, but when we told him he could have it colored violet, he agreed. He loved the spikey violet hair and didn't want to wash it off. He even asked me to make his hair spikey a few days after the party.

Griffin never liked to have his hair cut ever since his first haircut at a kid's salon when he was 9 or 10 months old. He was probably scared by the vibration and noise of the clipper although he didn't like it either when only scissors were used.
I had to force him to have a haircut everytime. Initially, he would go in Cuts for Tots because of the toys he sees inside, but he would refuse to sit in the chair even if it is shaped like a car. He used to have his haircut in the play area where he would cry his eyes out.
As he got older, he didn't want to go to the salon anymore. There were times when I cut his hair myself using a clipper. Unfortunately, I don't know how to cut hair, so his hair looked bad during those times.
It was only in August last year that he had a haircut in Kid's Salon and did not cry, too bad I didn't have a camera with me. It took a while before he agreed to sit on the chair, but when he finally sat down, he got distracted by the Power Rangers Movie that was being shown on the TV, so he didn't mind the haircut.
The next haircut he had last October was almost the same. Just a little prodding, a promise to go to timezone and watching a video on TV, made him agree to a haircut.
The real surprise came last December 9. We went to Rustan's and told him he was going to have a haircut. He agreed without any violent reaction. He even walked straight into the salon without me asking him. He's definitely a big boy now.

Writing update
I was really surprised that Griffin wrote all the letters of the alphabet. He doesn't like writing specially when I ask him to write some letters. I offered to buy him new crayons as long as he would write some letters but he refused. I told him that he should learn to write his name before he goes to school in June but he tells me that the teacher will teach him how to write his name. Oh well, at least there's some progress.
