Hailey Update

I went to my OB this morning and had my last ultrasound to check if Hailey is ready to come out already. According to the doctor, she's not ready yet if I wanted to give birth this weekend. We decided, however, to schedule my c-section next Wednesday, May 20. According to my ama, May 20 is a very good day to give birth. My doctor has agreed to this date as I will already be on my 38th week of pregnancy. Praying that everything will be fine during my delivery next week. Hailey is already 7 lbs. based on the ultrasound.

Hyper Baby

Hailey is a very active baby. When she moves in my tummy, her movements are so strong. I sometimes get poked on the ribs. She's usually very active towards midnight.

When I was at the hospital and had a fetal monitor attached to me. she kept on moving that it was difficult to hear her heartbeat. The monitor kept on slipping off my tummy because of her movements that's why someone had to hold it in place.

I wonder if she will be this active when she comes out. Will she be a hyper baby? I will just have to wait and see. Just a few more weeks till we see Hailey.

Boys School or Coed?

A couple of days ago Griffin was telling me...

Griffin: When Hailey* is 4 years old, she will go to my school then I will show her to my classmates.

Me: But there are no girls in your school, only boys.

Griffin: I want a school with boys and girls.

Me: Maybe you can transfer to a school for boys and girls when Hailey* starts going to school.

* Hailey is the name we call the baby in my tummy.

I don't really know if Griffin would still want to transfer schools in a couple of years. I'll just wait and see.

Active baby

Baby #2 is a very active baby. She moves around in my tummy so often. When I was pregnant with Griffin he was not this active. It seems that this baby loves to move her arms and legs. Even during the congenital scan, the doctor mentioned that the baby kept on moving. I wonder if she's going to be this active when she comes out of my tummy.

It seems like I've been gaining a pound a day these past few days. I'm not as big as I was when I was pregnant with Griffin but I hope I don't keep on gaining weight.

Baby #2 is .....

a GIRL! I had my congenital scan last Saturday. Results of the ultrasound were normal and it is now confirmed that the baby in my tummy is a girl. As of now, I'm leaning towards the name Hailey although I'm still thinking of a second name. My mom, brought out and washed the baby girl clothes she bought 4 years ago when I was still pregnant with Griffin. We also looked through Griffin's old baby clothes and got the yellow colored ones which the baby could use.

Baby's Moving In My Tummy

I've been feeling the baby move lately. Sometimes just once or twice a day, usually when I'm awake in the middle of the night. With regards to the bad feeling I've got because of the pregnancy hormones, I'm feeling a lot better now, although at times, my tummy still feels so full after eating.

This afternoon, Griffin was touching my tummy and he said he was talking to Calliope, that's the name Willie told him. He told me if the baby was a boy, he would be called Magnus Fighting Robot. Both names are not my type. I want to make sure first what the baby's gender is, before I search for names.

Baby #2 Update

I went to the doctor today. I gained 8 lbs from my last visit. The doctor says if I plan to have a normal delivery, that is really too much to gain but if I plan to undergo C-section again, which I plan to, then that is ok. However, I'll be having another glucose test by the end of this month and if I have high sugar levels then I still have to watch my weight.

My doctor gave me a free ultrasound to check on how the baby is doing and try to find out the gender. At first, she couldn't see if it was a boy or a girl because the baby's legs were crossed. She asked me to lie on my side and tried again. Although she couldn't tell for sure, by what she saw on the ultrasound, she thinks the baby is a girl. We might find out for cetain the gender of the baby when I have my 4D ultrasound first week of February.

Baby#2: First Ultrasound

I came from the doctor this afternoon and had my first ultrasound. The baby is estimated to be around 8 weeks and its estimated due date is June 5, 2009 although if I were to opt for C-section, I could give birth as early as 2 weeks before. The baby is fine and has a very good heartbeat.

Baby Talk

Some conversations about the baby.....

Me: I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse.
Ama: Mommy's so hungry, she could eat a Griffin.
Griffin: But she already ate a Griffin .... Griffin Daley. (referring to the baby in my tummy)

Ama: I want to see the baby in the book. (referring to the science book which shows the sperm and egg join together)
Griffin: (whispering in her ear) It's still in the tummy. (referring to the baby in my tummy)

Griffin: (pretending to type) Dear God, I already have a baby.

I remember what his teacher said when they were talking about family, and Griffin saw Colin and Enzo's family pictures and they had baby sisters. Griffin said, "next time I will have a baby", and now he will have one.

Baby Number 2

I was expecting my monthly period to come last September 30 but after a week I still haven't had my period so I took the pregnancy test this morning and it's positive. Griffin is going to be a big brother already. Griffin's birthday wish has come true. It was his wish on his birthday last August that he'd like to have a baby.

I told Griffin that he's going to be a big brother. I asked him what would he do when the baby comes. He showed me what he would do by shouting, "Mommy, the baby needs milk!".

While lying down on our bed, I was hugging Griffin ....
Me: I'm going to have 2 babies already. (Referring to Griffin and the new baby.)
Griffin: The baby will sleep beside me.

Willie was telling Griffin that there's a baby in my tummy. But Griffin kept on saying NO! I guess he still can't believe that there's a baby in my tummy because he knows pregnant women have big tummies.

I showed Griffin the pregnancy test and told him that if there are 2 lines, it means you're pregnant. Then he told me, I only want 1 line because I'm not pregnant. When Willie came home that night, he drew 2 lines on Griffin's arm and told him that he's pregnant. Griffin cried so I erased the 2 lines. After I erased the lines with alcohol, he asked me to draw 1 line only because he said he's not pregnant. After a while, Willie drew 3 lines on his own arm and told Griffin about it. Griffin said, "Daddy, you're very very pregnant"!
