Art Attack
I painted an outline of a flower, then Griffin told me that he wanted to paint it. He painted in the petals and the center of the flower. When I got back, he told me he put mud and a stem on the flower.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNNtUfNoUQnDuTeb4T1PgUc38r3oJWfoxfKEMMEJW4SBzGFDgOanAOeUnGymIdMTmj58F7pzmRe8qRpxdvSWBdnAIJadmhMRVrUJXNdQqti-hfG_R4B8YRbkiHETuAyQ7b2HP_Xtxpct8P/s320/IMG_6038.JPG)

My Little Racer
I don't know where he got the idea of a helmet. It might have been from the tv or computer. He just suddenly told me that he wanted a helmet, the one with a visor. So we went to 168 and luckily they had this kids helmet that looked like those used by race car drivers. He really loves this helmet. He pretends he is a race car driver and even wears his racer outfit, a long sleeved shirt with a race car driver printed on it.
Here he is on his Hot Wheels bike.

Save Energy
We were eating lunch last Sunday, when Griffin turned off both electric fans ....
Us: Griffin, turn on the fan. It's so hot.
Griffin: No, we're wasting energy.
UPDATE:
A few days after, it was almost midnight and Griffin was walking around in our room which could be heard downstairs where my mom sleeps, my mom called me on the cellphone. She talked to Griffin. When they were done talking, Griffin turned off my cellphone. I asked him why he turned it off. He said, " You're wasting energy. It's time to sleep."

Let's Pretend
Last tuesday we ordered pizza for dinner. Griffin was eating his favorite "pizza ends" inside our room while sitting on his little chair. When Willie came home .....
Willie: Griffin, eat outside.
Griffin: Let's pretend we're outside.
His Dad was speechless. Ha ha ha.

Dear God
I was on the computer when I saw Griffin pretending to read his classmate's invitation card. He was pointing at the words while saying, " Dear God, Please help mommy clean up. When you clean up .......". He started to babble after saying it. Instead of helping me clean up, he was asking God to help me.

Writing and Art
Griffin is getting better and better at writing his name. He doesn't need to trace the letters anymore.

He asked for a blue paper to make water. I gave him the paper and he folded it up to make it look like water then I made him a little boat to put in the water. I did not teach him how to do it. Maybe he saw it on the art show on Playhouse Disney.

Griffin's Sand Box
Griffin has his very own sand box. We bought sand from the hardware store then my mom bought a big tub and poured the sand there. The sand was wet, so it was quite messy playing with it. I thought Griffin would find the wet sand yucky, but no, he loved it and even covered himself in sand. He played in his little sand box for 2 hours. Just look at the pictures to see how much he loved it.

His first sand box was quite small so my mom decided to make one outside the house, this one was bigger and 2 or 3 small kids can play inside. He enjoyed this sand box more since he was able to move around it. We were also able to make more sand castles, unlike the first one where we could only build 1 sand castle.
Here are pictures of his new sand box:

Griffin Draws A Person
While I was cutting the flowers Griffin painted, he was beside me doodling something on paper. I didn't notice what he was drawing. I thought it was his usual abstract drawings which he calls a "blakala". When he was done, he showed me his drawing and said it was an S.P.D. Power Ranger. I was surprised and happy to see that the figure resembled a person, complete with head, body, legs and feet. It was the very first time he drew a person. He usually draws the head and face only, so it was really a big improvement in his drawings. I'm looking forward to the day that I would see more concrete drawings from Griffin.
UPDATE:
Ten days after his first drawing of a person, I asked him to draw another one. This time I told him to draw the arms. After finishing the drawing, he said this one is a Dino Thunder Power Ranger.
Mother's Day Gift
Willie gave me a new phone for Mother's Day. It's a Motorola MOTORAZR V8 which is a flip type phone.
While Griffin and I were in the bathroom....
Griffin: I have a Superman phone that open's like Daddy's new phone.
(It flips open too.)
Me: It's not Daddy's phone. It's my phone. Daddy gave it to me for Mother's Day.
Griffin: It's Daddy's and your phone. Next it will be Griffin's Day.
Me: When is Griffin's Day?
Griffin: In June, after Daddy's day.
Me: What gift do you want?
Griffin: I want real playing cards.
If there's Mother's Day and Father's Day, why not a Griffin's Day?

Griffin woke up by himself today, so he was able to watch some TV before going to school. When I picked him up after school, he gave me the 3 flowers he made and said, "This is for you.".
In the car, on our way back home ....
Griffin: Mommy, did you miss me?
Me: Yes, I missed you! Did you miss me?
Griffin: No.
Boo hoo hoo! Looks like Griffin is enjoying school so much that he doesn't even miss me.
