A Frustrating Day at School

Griffin had a bad day at school yesterday. I think his bad mood started while we were still at home. He wanted to put his ID on his back just like he did the other day but he couldn't figure out how to do it again so he got frustrated and threw the ID. On the way to the school, he wanted to nenen but I did not let him. I carried him inside the school and he did not want me to leave. He only let go of me when he saw Zach arrive.

I thought everything would be OK already, but I was wrong. When I picked him up, his teacher told me that he wasn't able to do his worksheets. The teacher said he was doing an ABC dot to dot but missed out on a letter, but since he was using markers he could not erase it, this got him frustrated again and started banging the marker. Teacher Cristy said everytime he makes a little mistake, he starts to mad, that's why she just sent his worksheets home.

I told him it was OK to make mistakes because everyone makes mistakes. I told him that if he misses out on a letter, he can just go back to the letter and continue. He said it's not OK because it won't be the right shape. He has always been like this. When he can't do something correctly, he gets frustrated and starts throwing things. He always wants to get it right the first time.

I was glad though, that he did his worksheets at home, even if he did not do everything in one sitting.
